What's happening to our water?

Water is everywhere ― in oceans, the air and the ground, all connected in this intricate hydrological cycle.

But we humans are upsetting the balance, especially with something called green water. Green water is the essential moisture trapped in the soil, nourishing plants and driving nearly half of the rainfall on land!

Can we fix this mess? Well maybe. But how?

Find out in our Monday newsletter.

What is Big Tech's rush to nuclear power telling us?

Heard of data centres?

Well, these are the beating heart of Artificial Intelligence (AI). But at the same time, they’re also massive electricity gobblers.

By 2030, they’re projected to consume a staggering 9% of all the electricity in the US!

So, what’s the solution, you ask?

Well, nuclear power might just be the game-changer they need.

Check out our Tuesday story to find out why.

Is the Global Hunger Index flawed?

India is again placed in the ‘serious’ hunger category in the Global Hunger Index (GHI), this year! That’s even behind Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

And the Indian government isn’t a big fan of the criteria they follow to come up with the rankings.

Experts from the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) have pointed out that these metrics might not always apply to a country like India without some adjustments.

So, are the index calculations flawed?

Find out in our Wednesday newsletter.

What the heck is a free economy?

Would you love it if the government levies lower income taxes or for that matter, Goods and Services Tax (GST), customs duties and stamp duties?

Now this is what happens in free economies like Singapore and Hong Kong. Governments don’t meddle in the economic affairs of people and businesses. And it’s also easier to set up businesses here because the tax regulations are business friendly.

But is that all that a free economy is? Or is there more?

We discuss the nitty gritty of free economies in our Thursday story. You can check it out here.

What happened to Netflix's gaming ambitions?

In 2021, Netflix ventured into gaming to boost user engagement amidst its slowing subscriber growth. It even set up global gaming studios and partnered with giants like Rockstar Games.

But recently, it shut down its AAA studio, Team Blue, raising questions about its gaming strategy.

So, why would Netflix hit the brakes on its gaming ambitions just as it was picking up speed?

Turns out, this may actually be a smart move!

Curious much? Dive into the full story here to find out why.
